The standard of appearance and conduct is as important as is the attitude, behaviour, sportsmanship, commitment, determination and sporting ability of the rower.
It is therefore required that all rowers with hair below collar length, are to have their hair tied up in a pony-tail, so that the sports cap fits snugly. Unkempt hairstyles are unacceptable, and this also includes facial hair. Your rower's overall presentation plays a part in how they may perform on the water. Crews that are focused, determined, impressive, well-organised and disciplined will always appear to have the advantage.
APS regulations state that all rowers are to wear their School's rowing zootie and crews are to wear matching sports caps or visors, during regattas. Long sleeve sports tops are acceptable to wear beneath the zootie to aid in encouraging rowers to be sun-smart.
During training only, rowers should wear their zootie, but it is also acceptable to wear CGS sports shorts and polo t-shirt. During transportation, rowers are to wear School sports uniform items - non-School sports items are not acceptable.
Rowers often wear navy with white stripe slides, and during major regattas, crews embellish their uniform by wearing matching socks, and girls, colourful matching crop-tops and ribbons, that represent their crew. These embellishments are organised by the crews themselves with guidance and support from the Pennefather Club.
At regattas, crews are to all wear matching head gear. CGS white (light) sports cap; CGS white visor or Rowing Navy Visor. Normally at regattas, no tops are worn beneath zooties.
