Although it is common practice at many Schools to charge students, and for the cost of rowing to be several thousand dollars, it is the intention of CGS to ensure that Rowing is affordable for all families. Caulfield Grammar also covers all costs associated with transport and supervision for all training, regattas and overnight regattas and camps.
Costs charged to parents for camps and regattas are therefore limited to covering the cost of accommodation, food and, where applicable, flights. Charges for individual camps or regattas will be provided separately for each, and are billed in the 2nd installment School Fees .
Camp costs are usually around $110 per rower per night, all inclusive.
It is also compulsory for Intermediate and Senior Rowers to attend the annual Presentation Dinner - a formal occasion of recognition, and a sit-down dinner for rowers, parents, coaches and school dignitaries at a cost of $75 per rower and $85 per adult, all inclusive.
The Pennefather Club supports and caters for rowers at minor and major regattas throughout the season which can be a costly exercise. To assist with various costs incurred by the Pennefather Club over the course of the season, a levy is billed to all students participating in the 3-day Head of Schoolgirls, 1 day Scotch Mercs and 1 day APS Heads of the River Regattas.
This levy will be billed in the 2nd installment School Fees and will be in the amount of approximately $50 per day, per rower ($100 boys; $150 girls).
Other costs that may be incurred throughout the season are to Pennefather Club ticketed social events; the purchase of merchandise; entry fees to the major regattas, and as with other sports programs, rowing uniform expenses, etc.
